In March with CUKE we were able to visit Corliss Farm sugar house in Northfield. http://corlissfarm.com/menu/index.htm
It was a lot of fun. The day was beautiful so we walked. We go to see the stove and watch the wood be put in. They burn a lot of wood to make the syrup. See trees get tapped and taste a sample. They let the kids play around the yard too, which was a big hit.
We learned it takes 40 gallons of sap to make one gallon of syrup!
Thanks Ariana for settng this up, thank you Colliss Farm for welcoming us!
